NEW THIS YEAR! - Homeschool Programs
For the 2024-2025 school year, CPS Planetarium is offering regularly scheduled homeschool programs for individual families and homeschool co-ops. Each program will feature a specific content topic and include short lessons, activities, and demonstrations.
School Field Trips & Community Group Shows

We offer PreK-12 field trips during the Columbia Public Schools academic year from September to May. We welcome all public and private schools for field trips. Request a field trip for your class today!

Are you a large homeschool co-op or individual homeschool family? We offer field trips homeschool programs throughout the semester. Please email us to inquire about our homeschool program schedule.

We occasionally provide planetarium shows for out-of-school programs such as daycares, Boys & Girls Club, Scout Troops, and the University of Missouri’s Adventure Club. Please inquire about our availability outside of school days.

We offer planetarium shows during the school day to senior centers, independent living communities, and other adult education programs.

General Information:
The planetarium is open for field trips on Tuesdays through Fridays from 9:30am-2:30pm during the school year.
Admission fees for visiting schools are $2 per person with a $40 minimum. Admission fees for non-school groups are $5 per person with a $50 minimum.
Our schedule books up very quickly, especially during April and May. Scheduling early will ensure you are able to book your preferred date and time.
Our planetarium school programs include a full-dome show of your choice and a night sky tour lead by a presenter.
Planetarium Policies:
Be respectful of the planetarium theater and the RBHS school building. Remind your students the planetarium is an extension of your classroom and encourage appropriate behavior.
Please remain in your seats for the duration of the show. Visitors entering and exiting during the program disrupts the presentation and flow of the program.
No food, drink, or chewing gum are allowed in the planetarium theater.
Please keep cell phones and other light up devices off and away for the duration of the show.
