The Beatles never looked so good. Whether in the mood for a mind-warping ride on a yellow submarine or just looking for an excuse to twist and shout, the Laser Beatles classic rock laser show has something for everyone. Featuring fifteen Beatles classics, such as Hard Day’s Night, I Wanna Hold Your Hand, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Yesterday, and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, this is considered by many to be the most spellbinding Beatles laser show ever. A donation of $5 per person is requested for this show.

Laser Pink Floyd: Best of Echoes is the ultimate fusion of classic rock music and dancing coherent light. Embark on an out-of-body experience as dazzling lasers visually interpret forty-five minutes of Pink Floyd’s most timeless musical journeys. Drift weightlessly among haunting laser landscapes and 3-D laser renderings as you experience such classics as One of These Days, Comfortably Numb, Money, and Wish You Were Here like never before. January 10, 2015 – 2:00 & 3:00 pm – Lasers in Space
Discover how lasers are transforming the study of astronomy and space exploration. Explore how lasers fired high into the atmosphere are now letting ground-based telescopes see distant galaxies clearly, a feat thought impossible only a few years ago. Learn why today’s most advanced robotic space probes now carry laser-powered instruments, including the first ‘laser gun,’ to map the surface of other planets and to sniff-out the chemical composition of outer space. Along the way take a few brain breaks and enjoy some of today’s most out-of-this-world tunes set to dazzling laser-light.

January 10, 2015 – 7:00 pm – Laser Led Zeppelin
Get the Led out as lasers weave a monolithic Zeppelin experience for diehards that is a feast for both eyes and ears. Transcend time and space with laserized versions of classic Zeppelin such as the Immigrant Song, Over the Hills and Far Away, Heartbreaker, Rock and Roll, Dazed and Confused, Whole Lotta Love, and of course, Stairway to Heaven. Chase away the winter chills with this Summer Laser Jam, a fun laser show featuring pop/rock music that evokes images of warm sunny beaches and cool sea breezes. The ultimate laser beach party, Summer Laser Jam goes where no other laser show has ever gone before – on summer vacation. The show’s laser characters, animations, and music are all family-friendly, making Summer Laser Jam an ideal program for people of all ages who are looking to take a break from the cold of winter. February 7, 2015 – Rockets Rockets Rockets!
First Saturday of February
CPS Planetarium is teaming with MU’s American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) club and bringing you rockets, rockets, and more rockets.
In the Dome: Take a ride through the solar system on a cardboard rocket.
Outside the Dome: View displays and interactive exhibits describing all aspects of rocketry.
2:00 – Secret of the Cardboard Rocket. For general audiences. Take an imaginary rocket ship ride through the solar system, learning about each planet along the way.
3:00 – Secret of the Cardboard Rocket.
March 14, 2015 – Dinosaurs, Cavemen, & Our Changing Planet
Dinosaurs, Cavemen, & Our Changing Planet – Come see dinosaur fossils, paint like a caveman, watch Earth’s Wild Ride, and more during our 3rd annual Dinosaur, Cavemen, and Our Changing Planet event: a collaboration between CPS Planetarium, MU Dept. of Pathology & Anatomical Sciences, and MU Dept. of Anthropology. Times to be determined.
April 11, 2015 – Astronomy for Young Children
2:00 – Night Sky Wonders. For Pre-K and Kindergarten children, this live show introduces young children to the wonders of the night sky.
3:00 – Magic Tree House Space Mission. For K-2 graders, this show takes kids along with Jack and Annie as they use their magic tree house to find the answers to questions about outer space.
May 9, 2015 – Old and New
2:00 – Astronaut. For general audiences. Learn about the training involved in preparing astronauts for the harsh enviroment of outer space. After the show, touch real space shuttle tiles and food prepared for eating in outer space.
3:00 – Stars of Jade. For older audiences, this show offers a fascinating look at early western and eastern cultures and discusses why early Chinese astrologers were so much more observant than their western counterparts.
