CPS Planetarium is open the second Saturday of each month (except for February when we are open the first Saturday in the month). Our first show is geared for younger audiences – typically ages 6-10. The second show is for older audiences with content generally a little more advanced.
For a “preschool-friendly” show, check out Night Sky Wonders (currently offered in June). This live show is shorter than most and is geared specifically for young attention spans.

~ 4th Annual ~
Dinos, Cavemen, & Our Changing Planet event
At different times in our planet’s history, different creatures have roamed over its surface. Come see examples of some of these many creatures (dinosaurs, mammoths, cavemen and more) when CPS Planetarium teams up with The University of Missouri’s Department of Pathology and Anatomical Sciences & the Department of Anthropology to bring amazing exhibits and interactive displays to the halls outside the planetarium dome. In addition, the planetarium will be showing Earth’s Wild Ride & a star tour every 45 minutes.
Displays and exhibits: free and open to the public,
no reservations or check-ins required
